A Multi-Robot Kit for Detecting Earthquake Victims in Debris

A Multi-Robot Kit for Detecting Earthquake Victims in Debris

People trapped in the debris after the earthquake could not be detected in time. Rescue teams commonly use acoustic listening devices and under-debris imaging cameras, but they don’t meet the needs to detect earthquake victims, and they are difficult to reach due to their high cost. This project aims to detect earthquake victims that are stuck in debris with a fast and low-cost solution. We have developed a kit consisting of robots with different capabilities. We have a station robot and two different operation robots in our kit. The station robot can move on debris and detect earthquake victims, and our operation robots can get into the debris. Our main goal is to distribute our kit to the rescue teams to save lives in future earthquakes.
